School Bus Ends Up In Ditch After Crash With Cadillac
A good Houston car accident attorney knows that accidents are a regular part of city life, but when they involve vehicles carrying a large number of people—such as a bus, they are particularly harrowing.
On Thursday night, a Spring Branch ISD school bus was hit by a speeding Cadillac near the Katy freeway. Luckily, the school bus was empty except for the driver, because she had just dropped off all the kids after a game. The bus driver was headed back to the bus barn to retire for the evening when she was struck by a speeding Cadillac.
The accident happened at about 10:30 p.m., on a westbound feeder road near the Katy Freeway. The bus was attempting to make a right turn onto Witte, when a speeding Cadillac exited the Katy Freeway at Gessner, drove over into the right lane and slammed into the back of the school bus. The impact was so great that the bus flipped over and landed in a roadside ditch.
The female driver of the Cadillac was taken to the nearby Memorial Hermann Hospital with serious injuries. The bus driver sustained only minor bumps and bruises and was treated at the scene of the accident. What caused the speeding Cadillac to lose control is unknown and the Spring Branch ISD police are assisting with the investigation.
